Whispering Woods is a brand new and exciting choir that began in the summer when a choir, encompassing both the Horsham and Crawley areas, was put together to take part in an innovative, new project that was itself called ‘Whispering Woods’.
The project was part of the West Sussex “Ahead of the Game” Cultural Programme and the “Discovering Places”, London 2012 Games Programme. It was a fantastic events held at Tilgate Park, Crawley, bringing together singers from all over West Sussex, and was the first of three events growing in scale to 2012.
These project are inspired by “Laulupidu”, the largest amateur choral event in the world that takes place in an amphitheatre within an Estonian Forest, with 25,000 singers!
We all enjoyed singing together so much that we decided to form our own choir and we will be working towards the next event which is due to take place in May 2011.
What the choir said in 2010:
“We are thrilled to be taking part in this fantastic Choiroke concert and hope that some of you may join us for the next project!’
