What started out as one person’s dream to run a choir where people could have fun singing whilst learning some basic breathing and vocal techniques to improve their voice, has become a family. Harmonessence is an all-embracing choir from Brighton & Hove with a focus on wonderful harmonies sung by wonderful people.
Established in 2012 by founder Danny Vice-Holt, Harmonessence came into existence because Danny wanted people to come together to learn technique whilst singing, but it turned into so much more.
Now, Harmonessence has a strong core of talented, hardworking and committed singers; some who had never sung before and are now accomplishedperformers, singing a variety of interesting songs with one ethos: If you can find a good harmony of it, let’s sing it!
All of the songs are arranged by Danny and he is always seeking new and exciting material. Their performance of ‘Losing My Religion’, ‘Sweet Dreams’ and ‘Walk Like an Egyptian’ was brilliant at last year’s Christmas show, and they are currently working on a Summer show with even more original arrangements.
Harmonessence is always looking for new members to join their ranks throughout the year so contact Danny and come along for a free taster session.
“Harmonessence are so proud to be given the opportunity to sing in Choiroke for BRAVO this year at The Dorking Halls. Even though it’s our first year, we’re excited it will be the first of many.”
