Choiroke2014 staged at Dorking Halls on Saturday 1st March 2014. It was a resounding success, a great night for the choirs and audience alike, and the first time that a special needs choir had performed at a Choiroke concert. Dyscover, the event’s charity partner, provides help and support to those with Aphasia, a condition that causes speech difficulties following a stroke or brain injury. Despite the condition, sufferers are often able to sing and doing so is frequently a part of their recovery therapy. In a very moving and inspirational moment for everyone, the Dyscover Singers’ fabulous performance received a richly-deserved standing ovation.
